SynQBench helps users organise, simplify, save, share, print, and calculate laboratory workflows.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SynQBench collects, how it is used, how long it is kept, and how users can request deletion of their account and data.

2. Information we collect
When you use SynQBench, we may collect and store the following information.

Protocol and workflow information

- Protocols you paste, simplify, save, edit, duplicate, share, or print
- Protocol titles
- Protocol versions
- Checklist items
- Notes
- Work plan items
- Recent activity linked to your account
- Share links created by you
Calculator information
SynQBench may process calculator inputs and results to provide lab calculation tools.
If calculator records are saved to your account, they may be stored as part of your SynQBench data.
Technical and security information
We may collect limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve SynQBench, including:
- Login and authentication records
- Error logs
- Browser or device information
- Date and time of actions
- Basic usage events needed for security, debugging, and service improvement
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your SynQBench account
- Allow you to log in securely
- Save and display your protocols, versions, notes, work plans, and profile settings
- Provide protocol simplification, sharing, printing, and calculator functions
- Send account-related emails, such as password reset or account verification emails
- Respond to support, bug reports, privacy requests, and deletion requests
- Improve SynQBench and fix technical issues
- Protect the security and integrity of the service
4. Protocol content and sensitive information
SynQBench is designed for laboratory workflow organisation.
You should not upload, paste, save, or share information that you are not authorised to use, including:
- Patient-identifiable information
- Confidential clinical information
- Restricted institutional documents
- Unpublished confidential research
- Commercially sensitive protocols
- Information subject to legal, ethical, contractual, or institutional restrictions
You are responsible for making sure you have permission to upload, save, or share any content you use in SynQBench.
5. Legal basis for processing
Where applicable, we process personal data because it is necessary to provide the SynQBench service, manage user accounts, maintain security, respond to requests, and improve the platform.
Where you choose to receive product updates or feature news, we use your preference to send those communications. You can opt out later.
6. Third-party services
SynQBench may use third-party service providers to operate the platform.
These may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database, and storage services
- Mailtrap for email testing and email delivery workflows
- Vercel for hosting and deployment infrastructure
These providers may process data on behalf of SynQBench only as needed to provide and maintain the service.
Where these providers are based outside the UK/EEA, they operate under appropriate data transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
We do not sell your personal data.
7. Cookies and browser storage
SynQBench may use essential cookies or similar browser storage to support:

8. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and saved SynQBench data while your account is active.
This includes your profile data, saved protocols, protocol versions, notes, work plans, share links, and related account data.
If you delete your account, your account will be scheduled for deletion after 7 days.
During this 7-day period:
- Your account is marked for deletion
- If you log back in within 7 days after clicking delete, the pending deletion is cancelled automatically
- If you do not log back in within 7 days, deletion is processed automatically
After the 7-day period, SynQBench will delete or anonymise your account data where applicable, unless limited information must be retained for legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, or operational reasons.
9. Account deletion
You can request account deletion from your Profile page by using the Delete account button.
Deleting your account will schedule the following for deletion or anonymisation:
- Account profile
- Saved protocols
- Protocol versions
- Notes
- Work plans
- Recent activity
- Share links owned by your account
- Saved calculator records, if applicable
Account deletion is completed after a 7-day waiting period unless you log back in within that period, which cancels the pending deletion request.

People have a right to request erasure of personal data in certain circumstances under UK GDPR, and privacy information should explain retention periods and user rights clearly.
10. Backups and retained records
Some data may remain temporarily in backups or system logs after account deletion.
Where this happens, the data will not be used for normal service activity and will be deleted or overwritten according to backup and operational retention processes.
We may retain limited records where needed for:
- Security
- Fraud or abuse prevention
- Legal obligations
- Resolving disputes
- Maintaining service integrity
11. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data with service providers who help run SynQBench, such as database, authentication, hosting, storage, and email service providers.
We may also disclose information if required by law or if needed to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of SynQBench, users, or others.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to:

However, no online service can guarantee complete security.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for making sure you do not upload information that you are not authorised to use.

SynQBench is intended for adults and laboratory users.
It is not intended for children.

We may update this Privacy Policy as SynQBench develops.
