These Terms of Use explain the rules for using SynQBench.
By using SynQBench, you agree to these terms.
What SynQBench does
SynQBench helps users organise, simplify, save, edit, share, print, and calculate lab workflows.
SynQBench is a workflow support tool. It does not replace official laboratory protocols, institutional SOPs, risk assessments, professional judgement, training, or safety procedures.
User responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all protocol outputs before using them.
Before using any protocol or calculation, you must check:
- Volumes
- Concentrations
- Units
- Incubation times
- Temperatures
- Centrifuge speeds
- Equipment settings
- Reagent names
- Safety steps
- Waste disposal requirements
- Institutional SOPs and approvals
SynQBench may simplify, organise, or reformat protocol content, but it may also miss, misread, or incorrectly interpret information.
Do not rely on generated or simplified content without independent review and verification

SynQBench may miss, misread, or incorrectly simplify protocol details.
Do not use SynQBench outputs without checking them against the original protocol and your approved laboratory procedures.
No scientific, medical, or safety advice
SynQBench does not provide medical, clinical, regulatory, biosafety, or professional scientific advice.
Any information generated by SynQBench is for workflow organisation only.
You must follow your institution's approved procedures, safety rules, ethics approvals, training requirements, and applicable laws.
User content
You are responsible for any content you upload, paste, save, edit, or share through SynQBench.
You must not upload content that:
- You do not have permission to use
- Contains patient-identifiable information
- Contains confidential or restricted information you are not authorised to upload
- Violates institutional rules, legal requirements, or third-party rights
- Is harmful, illegal, or abusive
Protocol sharing
SynQBench may allow users to create read-only links or editable copies.
You are responsible for making sure you only share protocols with people who are authorised to view or use them.
Read-only links should not allow editing. Editable copies may allow another user to create their own editable version.
Calculators
SynQBench calculators are provided for convenience.
You must independently verify all calculator results before use, especially where errors could affect experiments, samples, safety, cost, or data quality.
Subscriptions and Billing
Plans
SynQBench offers the following plans:
- Bench (free) — no payment required.
- Bench+ — a paid monthly or annual subscription, priced as shown on our Pricing page at the time of purchase.
- Lab — currently available by waitlist/contact only; separate terms may apply if and when this plan launches.
Current pricing, features, and usage limits for each plan are set out on our Pricing page, which forms part of these Terms.
Billing and renewal
- Bench+ subscriptions are billed either monthly or annually, as selected at checkout, in advance.
- Your billing period is anchored to the date you subscribed, not the calendar month — for example, if you subscribe on the 10th, your billing period runs from the 10th to the 10th of the following month (or year, for annual plans).
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Prices shown do not include VAT, as SynQBench is not currently VAT registered.
Usage limits
- Bench includes 5 protocol simplifications per billing period; Bench+ includes 50 protocol simplifications per billing period. Unused simplifications do not roll over to the next billing period.
- If you reach your simplification limit, previously created protocols remain fully accessible; you will not be able to create new simplifications until your next billing period begins or you upgrade your plan.
Cancellation
- You may cancel your Bench+ subscription at any time via your account billing settings.
- If you cancel, you will retain full Bench+ access until the end of your current paid billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation, and your plan will revert to Bench at the end of that period.
- You may reactivate a subscription that is pending cancellation at any time before your current billing period ends.
Right to cancel (cooling-off period) and waiver
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you would ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel a digital subscription and receive a refund. Because SynQBench provides immediate access to Bench+ features upon payment, we ask you to expressly waive this right at checkout in order to begin using Bench+ immediately. If you do not wish to waive this right, please do not check the waiver box at checkout; in that case, immediate access cannot be provided, and you should contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.
By checking the waiver box at checkout, you confirm that you understand you are giving up your 14-day cancellation right in exchange for immediate access to paid features.
Failed payments
If a subscription payment fails, we will attempt to process the payment again and will notify you to update your payment method. You will retain Bench+ access for up to 3 days from the failed payment while this is resolved. If payment is not successfully completed within this period, your account will revert to the Bench (free) plan.
Downgrades and your data
If your account reverts from Bench+ to Bench (whether through cancellation, a failed payment, or otherwise), we will never delete your existing saved protocols, calculators, or other data. If the number of items you have saved exceeds the Bench plan's limits, you will still be able to view and use everything you have already saved — you will only be prevented from creating or saving new items until you either reduce your saved items to within the Bench limit or upgrade back to Bench+.
Changes to pricing
We may change our pricing or plan features from time to time. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of any price changes affecting active subscribers. Continuing to use SynQBench after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing for your next renewal.
Refunds
Except as required by law or as otherwise stated in these Terms, payments for Bench+ subscriptions are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, once the 14-day cancellation right has been waived as described above.
Account security
You are responsible for keeping your account login details secure.
Contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Beta service
SynQBench may currently be offered as a beta service.
During beta:
- Features may change
- Some functions may be incomplete
- Bugs may occur
- Outputs may need manual review
- Data structures or workflows may change as the platform improves
Availability
We aim to keep SynQBench available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, errors, hosting issues, or technical problems.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SynQBench is not responsible for losses, damages, failed experiments, data loss, incorrect protocol use, incorrect calculations, safety incidents, or other consequences resulting from reliance on SynQBench outputs without independent verification.
You use SynQBench at your own risk.
Changes to the service
We may update, remove, or change features as SynQBench develops.
